Process to Journey

How to process to your journey
  1. ​Register with us online and let us know your situation and what you are looking for about your journey. Complete your profile along with a few photos of yours. We will set up a consultation with you via video chat explaining the process. Review and electronically sign our retainer agreement and you will be officially welcome into our program, upon receipt of your retainer fee.
     

  2. Arrange a consultation with an IVF doctor to discuss the treatment plan (pre-screening may be required)
     

  3. IVF Cycle Arrangement
    We will coordinate IVF Cycle with you and the clinic.

     

  4. Embryo results
    After the egg retrieval and the embryos are created, you can proceed with the surrogacy process with Pacific Miracles, now time to start the matching process!

     

  5. The matching process
    You can browse through our wide selection of surrogate profiles, then we will arrange a match meeting for you and the surrogate to meet via video chat.

     

  6. Medical clearance
    Once you and the surrogate agree to work together, the surrogate will have a psychological evaluation and as well as a full screening process at the IVF clinic in order to obtain a medical clearance to proceed.

     

  7. Legal clearance
    The licensed ART attorney will assist in drafting a legal contract between you and the surrogate. Once both parties agree and sign with the notarization, the attorney will issue a legal clearance.

     

  8. Frozen Embryo Transfer Cycle Arrangement
    We will coordinate Frozen Embryo Transfer Cycle with the surrogate and the clinic.

     

  9. Graduating from the IVF clinic
    Once the surrogate is pregnant, she will be monitored at the IVF clinic until about 10th week into the pregnancy, then she will be graduating from the IVF clinic, turning her care to a local obstetrician.

     

  10. Pregnancy monitoring
    We will track and monitoring the entire surrogacy process until the birth of the baby. We will also update the intended parents with every monitoring result to keep them posted on how the surrogate and the baby is doing.

     

  11. Legal Documents
    After the baby is born, we will assist you in obtaining the birth certificate, passport and travel documents such as visa for the newborn.

     

  12. Assist for planning to come U.S. for the delivery and during the stay in U.S. before and after the delivery until up to go back home.

Optional Plan for Egg Donation
PMI offers an optional plan for those who are suffering from the global coronal disaster or have personal circumstances that require a more flexible approach to egg donation.We coordinate Embryo Transfer at a clinic in Japan for those who are unable to travel to the United States.For those who are unable to travel to the U.S., our experienced staff can guide you through the process of transporting your embryos and having them implanted in Japan.We will refer you to a clinic in Japan for your embryo transfer in Japan.For patients who wish to have the embryos transported to Japan and have the embryo transfer in Japan, please contact our staff for a different schedule.

(1) Information provided by the client

We ask the client to inform our staff of the client's information by e-mail or telephone.

 

Information Needed:

・Why the client wishes to have an egg donor

・Client's name, age (date of birth), occupation, address, telephone number, etc.

・Composition of the family

・Does anyone in the family know about egg donation other than you?

・Medical history, treatment history, etc.

 

*If you have any questions about egg donation, we will try to answer as clearly as possible.

 

(2) Sending of egg donor profile

Phone (or Skype) consultation with the doctor

After the doctor determines that the egg donor is eligible, the first trip to the U.S. is made. Necessary tests, sperm collection and freezing.

Explanation of the legal procedures for egg donation. If you have any questions, please ask for clarification.

 

(3) Contract with PMI and make arrangements for egg donation

  Set up escrow account, send PMI service agreement → transfer funds to escrow account

 

1. Psychological Evaluation of the egg donor (Psychological check by psychologist)

  (Whether the egg donor understands egg donation and is qualified to be an egg donor)

2. Medical Screening of the egg donor

  (Physical check by a physician, blood test, etc.)

 

(4) Egg Donor

After the egg donor passes all the tests described in 1.2, arrange for the egg donation contract

 

(5) Egg donation contract

After the egg donor is selected, a lawyer is asked to draft an egg donation contract.

 

The process of exchanging a contract with the egg donor

a. The client enters into a Retainer Agreement (a request to prepare an egg donation contract) with the attorney (A).

b. PMI sends the attorney (A) the necessary information to prepare the agreement.

c. The attorney (A) prepares a draft of the agreement.

d. The client confirms the draft contract.

e. A telephone conference is held between the client, attorney (A), and interpreter.

 The contents of the draft contract are explained in detail and discussed.

f. The attorney (A) sends the draft contract to the egg donor's attorney (B).

g. Egg donor's attorney (B) and egg donor have a telephone conference. 

h. Egg donor's attorney (B) requests attorney (A) to change the contents.

i. Attorney (A) confirms the contents through an interpreter.

j. Attorney (A) prepares the final contract and sends it to the client.

k. The client reviews the contract, signs it if there are no problems, and returns it to the attorney.

l. Attorney (A) sends the final contract to the egg donor's attorney (B).

m. Attorney (B) reviews the agreement, egg donor signs it, and sends it to Attorney (A).

n. Attorney (A) issues a Legal Clearance.

o. The egg donation contract is concluded.

 

(6) In Vitro Fertilization

After the egg donation contract is concluded, preparation for in vitro fertilization (IVF) begins.

IVF cycle ⇒ egg retrieval ⇒ freezing of fertilized eggs

 

(7) Embryo Transfer Cycle

The embryo transfer cycle can be performed in the U.S. or Japan. In the case of embryo transfer in Japan, the frozen embryos will be shipped to a clinic in Japan, and PMI will refer you to a clinic in Japan. For more information, please contact us.

 

EGG DONOR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Between 21 and 30 years old

  • Have regular monthly periods

  • Have no reproductive disorders

  • A non-smoker and non-drug user

  • BMI is under 29

  • No history of mental illness, drug use, or alcoholism

  • Willing to take injectable medication

  • Agree to medical, psychological, and drug screenings

  • Willing to undergo an outpatient procedure for egg retrieval

  • Able to follow a doctor’s instructions

  • Must have the time and commitment to complete the egg donation process
